Wishing My Summer Away

You know those commercials on TV with the parents floating around the store, buying back to school items while the words to "It's the most wonderful time of the year" plays in the background? I've never gotten to really enjoy that feeling since I homeschool my kids. Yup. There is no respite in sight for me. School will start in a week, and that means back to work. And while I love homeschooling, I do enjoy our summer break.

So why have I spent the past couple months longing for the end of August to roll around?

I have new release tomorrow. :rolls eyes:

I've camped, and hiked and floated down the river. I've watched sunrises and sunsets, played tennis and swung on the rope swing into the river and all the time--in the back of my mind-- I'm thinking about August 31st.

It's not really as pathetic as it sounds. I enjoyed every minute of waiting, because anticipation adds a nice buzz to the whole experience. But I'm glad that tomorrow is finally about to arrive!
