New from Marteeka Karland and Shara Azod

His Willing Prey

Meet Arturo. He knows what he wants, and on the night of May 5th- he's going to take it. Tired of seeing Carmen flirting with weak men who can never fulfill her, he decides he has waited long enough. This Cinco de Mayo, Arturo is laying siege to the woman who haunted his dreams. By sunrise, he plans to have Carmen tied to him forever....Literally.

EXCERPT!

Dawn’s heart had never beat so hard. She felt like she’d run a marathon and, Lord help her, she was creaming her panties. Joaquin had always been the man of her dreams, but that man seemed to have gotten a whole lot bigger this close up. Now, he moved toward her slowly, as if he were a wolf stalking his prey. She almost took a step backwards out of sheer reflex, but she didn’t. She stood her ground and lifted her chin a notch. She might be the shy girl next door, but Joaquin did not scare her. He thrilled her beyond imagination, and there was no way she was shrinking away from him now.
“I know you heard what I said to Miguel. Just so you know where we stand, I meant every word. You’re mine.” He kept moving toward her until they stood nose-to-nose. Well, nose-to-chest. Miguel was a large man indeed, and the difference in their sizes sent another shiver racing through her body. “If you don’t feel the same way, you’d better say so now, because that’s the only way I’m leaving here tonight, or any other night for that matter.”
Dawn knew she had to say something. This was his way of giving her an out, though from the proximity of his body to hers, not much of one. Her mouth was suddenly too dry, and she knew if she said anything, she’d only embarrass herself by squeaking it out, so she did the only thing she knew to do in a situation like this. She slid her hand slowly up his chest until her arms encircled his neck, pulled him down to her, and pressed her lips to his.
It wasn’t anything more than a pressing of mouths together for a moment or two, until Joaquin quickly took control, just like she knew he would. He licked the seam of her lips until she gasped, then gently, carefully probed the inside of her mouth with his tongue inside her mouth. It was as if he were savoring the taste of her. Dawn knew she was certainly enjoying his own exotic, spicy taste. She couldn’t help the little whimper that escaped. His own groan of approval answered her, and Joaquin immediately scooped her into his arms and headed down the hallway.
He didn’t ask directions, seeming to know the exact location of her bedroom. Which was fine by her—Dawn doubted she could have told him where to go anyway. She was out of breath and shaking so hard in anticipation, it was a wonder he didn’t drop her. She clung tightly to him, taking the opportunity to kiss his face, smell his skin, his hair. She wanted to run her tongue over every square millimeter of his body before dipping him in chocolate and doing it all over again.
Unfortunately, there were just too damned many clothes in the way for that, for now, anyway.
The second he set her on the bed, she got to her knees and started undoing the buttons of his shirt. Rather, she tried to. The damned things seemed too small for her impatient fingers to manage. With a frustrated growl, she finally just jerked the damned thing open. Buttons went flying in all directions.
Joaquin chuckled. “I think someone’s a little impatient.”
“Yeah, well, if you’d done this years ago, maybe you would still have your shirt.” Dawn knew she’d be mortified later, but now, she couldn't muster the energy to do anything other than make sure Joaquin got naked, and in a hurry. Seeing his body in all its muscled glory was her only thought, and she didn’t intend to wait a second longer than she absolutely had to.
His jeans followed his shirt—- with the button intact—and he finally—finally—stood before her in all his naked glory. Dawn just sat back on her ass, looking at him like a starving kid staring at a lollipop. The man was absolutely scrumptious! That cock of his looked as if he was ready to invade with extreme prejudice, to use a military turn of phrase—something Dawn could get wholeheartedly behind—or in front, or on top.
Muscles bunched beneath lightly hair-dusted skin. Veins roped his arms as he clenched and unclenched his fists. He looked like he was about to attack. She shivered, wishing he would. Every inch of his bare skin made her all too aware of her own overdressed state. Although the central air was pumping and working just fine, she still felt as if she was burning up.
She had time to whip her shirt over her head before he started on her skirt, almost tearing the delicate material in his haste. His hands were rough, calloused. A man’s hands. A sure sign that all that muscle was from good old-fashioned hard work, not hours in the gym. This was a man who earned his body with his own blood, sweat, and tears.
Lying back on the bed, Dawn lifted her hips as he tugged her panties off and stood there looking at her. Lust burned hot in those deep brown eyes. Possessiveness unlike anything she’d ever witnessed seared straight to her soul. If there had ever been any doubt she belonged to him, the fierce longing in his eyes erased it. Damn him for waiting so long to make this night a reality.
“Never in my wildest dreams—and believe me, I’ve had some wild ones—did I imagine you’d look so damned perfect.” Joaquin murmured the words as if thinking out loud. “Miles and fucking miles of the richest chocolate toffee skin...” He trailed off as he dipped his head to her and kissed her belly just below her navel.
Dawn jumped and had to bite her lip to keep from squealing. Her muscles twitched at the contact. She almost felt like a virgin! It was totally ridiculous, but this was her dream come true. This wasJoaquin! And unless she was completely and totally mistaken, he was going to fuck her brains out.

EXCERPT!

Too bad he scared the shit out of her. Not that he was dangerous—he was just so intense, so very male. There was no way he’d let her wrap him around her little finger. Frankly, that was how she preferred her men, or at least she thought she did. With Arturo she wasn’t so sure. He made her feel things she wasn’t comfortable admitting. She just knew if she spent even one night with him, she’d be changed for good. This was NOT the kind of man you just merrily skipped away from.
“I know you’re as hot for me as I am for you, Carmen. Why do you pretend otherwise, hmm?”
“You’re taking a lot for granted there, aren’t you?” Lord! The man had a sexy voice. Scary he might be, but she’d always lived her life on the edge. She just couldn’t resist turning and running her finger lightly down his chest.
“I know, Carmen. I know you crave my touch.” His voice was barely above a whisper in her ear. The fine hairs on the back of her neck bristled, and chill bumps erupted over her skin. He was hitting just a little too close to the truth for her liking. At least for now. Maybe if she could ease into it, she could handle him.
Who the fuck was she kidding! There was no “handling” him. There was no easing into it. It was either do it or let him go. She was so in over her head!
“Maybe,” she said flippantly, trying to act as nonchalant as she could, turning back around. “You’re a sexy man. Any woman would love to take you on.” She made her smile as sexy and seductive as she could as she glanced over her shoulder, attempting to project a confidence she didn’t really feel. “I just don’t think I can fit you into my schedule.”
It was supposed to be the perfect exit line. At least that was what she intended. Unfortunately, Arturo had other ideas. Gripping her elbow lightly, he crowded her body with his much larger one until she fell into step beside him. Suddenly, goading and flirting didn’t really seem like the best thing she’d ever done. Her heart pounded and her mouth was suddenly too dry to speak. He moved steadily, steering her away from the block party.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She managed to stammer the question with as much indignation as a scared little girl on her first day at school. God help her, but as anxious as she was, she couldn’t help but be excited too. There was no way she should let him take her off somewhere, but she was going to. Damn, damn, damn, she just didn’t have the will to do anything but follow.
“Hush,” he hissed. She expected he’d explain further, but instead, he just kept them moving at a slow but steady pace. He actually waved and answered greetings from those around him as they passed. It was as if nothing unusual were happening. Carmen, meanwhile, was practically jumping out of her skin. Everything intelligent inside her screamed for her to wrestle her arm away from him and run like hell. Everything that was female inside her defied her brain, overruling her normal common sense and beating the living shit out of it.
She would go with him, do whatever he wanted. And there was no way in fucking hell she’d let him leave her before she was completely and totally satisfied. She just hoped and prayed she’d be able to walk away in the morning.
