Happy Winter!

This is my absolute favorite time of the year. Living in Florida, a state as hot and muggy as hell (I'm just guessing here) it's a relief when the temperature changes and you can enjoy walking out doors again. When you can fill your scorched lungs with cool, crisp air, air out the house, and have a legitimate reason for drinking a hot cup of chocolate. With whip cream of course!

With Halloween behind us we have my favorite holiday approaching. Thanksgiving! I'm already anticipating the extra few days off. Visiting with family I don't see often enough, and eating those goodies I can't seem to find but once a year. My daughter is anticipating my home made dressing, or stuffing as some of you call it. Something her grandmother taught me to make.

I have so much to be thankful for. My soul mate of 17 years was just released from hospice house on Monday. He is still under hospice care and we are cautiously optimistic he will beat the several health issues taking over his body.

I have two beautiful grandchildren who, while drive me crazy at times, give me peace and a moment of happiness when I need it most. Just looking at them brings a smile on my face and makes everything all right. Until reality slaps me in the face again. I have a beautiful and caring daughter and a wonderful son-in-law, and a lovely niece who's always been like a second daughter to me.

We actually have a pretty good life. Some things could be better, but they can always be worse. Try to remind yourself that when things look grim. It's not easy, but when you look around you, and the world. There are folks out there who have it a lot worse.

If you couldn't tell it by the book cover,The Promise takes place in winter time, and around the holidays. It's an erotic romance where a Marine and a widow are brought together because of the promise they made to the same man. The story takes place on a Vermont farm, where the large family has gathered to celebrate together.
