As a romance writer, relationships are my trade. I bring characters together and tear them apart every single day of my life. And I realize the importance of taking time for your loved one. So I did a little research on how to recharge a relationship. Here are some great tips I found. Some I’ve tried, and others I plan to put into action.
Here are a few things you can do to kick-start that passion:
1. Give your lover a romantic massage.
2. Prepare a romantic meal—just the two of you. Pawn the kids off on Grandma and light a few candles. I recently did this and was very happy with the grin of appreciation I received! Not to mention the aftereffects…
3. When you wake up, roll over and tell that special person how much you love waking up to his face before you tell him to go brush his teeth *grin*.
4. Make a romantic picture frame with a special picture of the two of you together.
5. Take a trip to the amusement park together.
6. Write 101 reasons why you love him. I actually received this for my birthday from my husband, and some of the reasons were so cute and corny, they’ll live in my memory forever (of course I kept it too).
7. Clean your lover’s car for him/her.
8. Write “I love you” in lipstick on the mirror. I clean houses as a side job, and I actually walked into a person’s master bathroom and saw this on his mirror. It was very touching.
9. Buy a box of chocolate to share even when it’s not Valentine’s Day.
10. Take a walk together.
11. Mail him a card even if you live together.
12. Breathe on her hands to warm them when it’s cold outside.
13. Make a CD of your favorite songs.
14. Go on a picnic.
15. Send romantic text messages.
When you’re feeling the lack of a spark, try one of these tips and see if you find a bit of your romantic side! Hmmm…which one will I try next?
Do you have any tips to share? I’d love to hear one! Leave a comment!

I completely agree Em- it's the little things in life that make all the difference.
Corny ways of saying I love you are the ones I remember most of all.
Great post, Em. With everything racing around us, we forget the small gestures. And number twelve "Breathe on her hands to warm them when it’s cold outside" is how he won my heart. Thanks!
Thank you for visiting, and I agree--the little things make the world go around!
