Someone Like You with Wendi Zwaduk

I love to write stories of second chances. Maybe it's because I believe that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after, even when things seem beyond repair.

My first release of this year is Someone Like You. If you think I listened to way too much Adele at the time, you'd be right. But there's more to SLY than just a song. Mindy is a character very near and dear to my heart. I can identify with her. She's got a boyfriend, but she knows she's not loved by him. He doesn't respect her. A lot of women can understand her sense of unhappiness. Moreover, she wants to be happy herself. Arran, though a little misguided, really has her best interest at heart.

Have you ever done something thinking this is what I really need to do, even when deep down you don't believe in it? Maybe you've taken a job because it's what someone else swore was what you should do. Maybe you started a relationship with someone when you knew it wasn't a good idea. If you have, you can understand how Mindy feels.

She's a giver. She wants to make others happy. If that means sacrificing her own happiness, then she'll do it. She fights for the lost cause even when it's beyond lost. For Mindy, Arran and his predicament are that lost cause she has to fight for.

Call it misguided. Call it weak. I've taken some serious flack for writing a character that's not a kick ass heroine. Not everyone is kick ass. Some people are meek. Some people are selfless. Mindy is one of those people. I hope that comes across in the story. She does what she does out of love for Arran. Is it wrong? Maybe. Is it misguided? Probably. But she's real and human. She doesn't have all the right answers and she's not looking to impress anyone.

Want to make your own judgment? Here's the info and blurb for Someone Like You:

She’s the one he wants, he just doesn’t know it yet.

Arran Mayes-Confirmed bachelor. Loves a good bottle of wine, hearty conversation and men. Determined to open his own pizzeria, he’s not looking for love or a woman.

Then he sees her. Can a tomcat playboy settle down in the arms of a good woman?

Mindy Dawson-She’s not interested in relationships or dating after having been through the wringer more times than she can count. Attending college is for a BA...not an "MRS" degree.

Until she sees him. Is she woman enough to tame Arran’s ways? Or will their love affair burn out before it gets started?

Reader Advisory: This story contains lovers who didn’t know they connected, finding their mutual satisfaction with anal sex and a few toys for fun.

Available at Total-E-Bound Publishing.
