I've been making a few changes around Tribe Cahill's cave recently and while they're not major they are giving me that breath of fresh air I've been in need of. I tend to be a 'motherer' of all things when it comes to the tribe. Son#1 is 22 and working full time and yet I still make his haircut appointments and I have to say it drives me batty when I make one and it doesn't fit with his schedule so I have to change it. ggrrrr That's just one example of the way I spoil the tribe but I'm not revealing any more because I can already feel my jaw clenching. *grin*
I decided at Christmas that I was going to take more me time, and while I haven't been as successful as I'd like I have made progress. One step at a time, one step at a time. Anyway, on a personal front I decided I would 'look after' myself more but doing things I always put off until the last minute or forget about completely - like booking a haircut for myself. We're just into March and I've already had my hair cut and colored, my nails done twice and a pedicure. For me that's a huge improvement on last year. And I must admit it feels damn good taking some me time.
One of the other things I plan to do more often this year is catch up with my writer friends more regularly which means I'll be taking a two hour drive tomorrow to hang with the delightful Lexxie Couper for the day. Then on Saturday I'm catching up with Jess Dee for a cuppa and chat. I'm looking forward to both days immensely even though I only saw them a few weeks ago at the Australian Romance Readers Association Awards dinner. There's nothing better than hanging out with like minded individuals who share my passion for all things romance.
Another thing I've 'made' time for this year is reading. I didn't do nearly enough of it last year and I missed it. Towards the end of last year I 're-discovered' Jill Shalvis and I'm hooked on her Lucky Harbor series. There's also Jaci Burton and Brenda Novak books I've caught up on. And I've made the effort to 'discover' new to me authors as well. I've found some great ones by picking up some Kindle freebies. Now I just wish there were more hours in the day to read them all. LOL
So we're two months into 2012 and I've kept up with my New Year's Resolution and I'm sure the momentum will continue which is good for me and the tribe. They were starting to annoy me enough that I was contemplating running away. :) That still might be on the cards though. After all change might be as good as a holiday but a holiday still wins hands down.

Rhian, I just love that you take such good care of your Tribe. LOL. I wish you a Wonderful year of the "doing for me list". You deserve it. Great reads, thanks.
Thanks Cheryl. They are well taken care of, but it's definitely time I took care of me just as well. *grin*
