Ever wish that you could live in a fictional world? Maybe Virgin River to visit Jack’s Bar. Robyn Carr knows the way. How about taking a run through the cool forest with teen werewolf heartthrob Jacob? Stroll through the streets of New Orleans with the Vampire Lestat?
Ah, the worlds that I’ve visited through the magical transporting pages of a book.
Now, as a writer, I see a whole other dimension to the literary madness. At times, like now, I need to be focused upon one book and the wonderful ideas and storylines continue to assault me. Perhaps, it’s because of the order of the books that I’ve written in The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf series so far. First, it was the tale of Lawrence, Trevor & Lily coming together in A New Orleans Threesome. Then, we met Trevor’s sister Silver and her love interest Nick. Currently, I’m working on book 3, The Voodoo King. But, Silver’s not done with me yet. She keeps barging in, and while she’s involved in the current tale, I have another book planned for her. So she needs to rail it in. She’ll have the adventures that she’s due.
The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf: Chains of Silver
The touch of his hand against hers distracted her. She could barely concentrate on his words. She stared at his lips, watching them move but not really taking in what he was saying. She wanted him to kiss her. She wanted to kiss him. Finally, tired of waiting for him to make whatever move was going to happen next, she raised herself up and placed her mouth over his.
He grew still, and she increased the pressure, parting her lips the slightest bit. So cold on this winter night, but the warmth between them increased quickly. Right when she decided she might be doing the wrong thing, he wrapped his other arm around her waist and held her tight against him. His tongue slivered out, teasing her mouth open. She moaned at the contact, almost ticklish and definitely pleasurable.
Their breathing intensified, and finally he broke free.
“What was that all about?” he asked.
“I’ve been wanting that for a long time,” Silver said, “and it seemed like you were never going to shut up.”
He dropped her hand, and slid both of his into her thick hair, pulling her in closer. “And I’ve been wanting to do this,” he said.
Ravished. As his lips aggressively sought hers, and his fingers massaged the back of her scalp, that’s the only word that she could think of to describe what he was doing. He wanted her, and he was taking her. But, she wasn’t complaining. Oh, no. This moment felt better than any other experience she’d had.
The hardness of him pressed against her belly, and she longed to reach between them and caress its length. She knew that his common sense fought against his physical urges, and this chemistry between them had been winning the battle.

I am digging that preview and so looking forward to getting it:) Thank you for the snippet and well written! xoxo
That's the mark of a good book,in my opinion -- the ability to transport me away from my life and into the lives of amazing characters. And when I'm done, I'm almost sad in a way that I must say goodbye to these people forever (unless, it's part of series, of course.)
As for transporting me into an entirely different world, I must say it was all of the Harry Potter books. To this day, I am amazed at how JK Rowling was able to think up such a story with so many unique characteristics from language ("muggles") to locations (Hogwarts). I definitly felt like I was immersed in a wizard's world when I read those books.
Great post! And congrats on your new release!
I've not had a chance to read your books yet...though I would love to.
The preview has me hooked. Now I have to figure out how to get them...lol

Thanks so much, Rue! It was a fun write, and now I'm working on book 3!
Annette -- Harry Potter! Talk about imagination. Oh, my ... that was a made-up world that they've now recreated at Universal Studios. Now, waiting for it to come to Cali.
Deb -- I totally understand a growing TBR pile! Thanks for stopping by.
And Rob Lowe ... anything with Lowe is good.
the last book I read like that was a submission in my slush pile, so I can't say what it was. lol. but damn, it was GREAT. and it is a 4 book series... lol
congrats on the paperback!
Kerry
Oooh, Kerry! Sounds like you lucked out there! We'll get to know eventually, right? ;-)
The last book I read was The Darkest Surrender by Gena Showalter. I am in LUST with William.
My study got warmer as I read the clip. LOL.
Hope I win this book.
Ooh, Shannon -- Literary lust = good!
You're in, Jeff! This one will make it through the storms you've been having! On the "Blue" blog, we're allowed to be a bit more ... racy!
I'm trapped in the brutal world of the Hunger Games. Plus Bell and X keep popping up during meetings and while I'm driving. *sigh*
Can't wait for book 3!
I'd watch out for that Bell ... she's a sneaky one! I wouldn't want to get on her bad side.
Shannon,
Officially, you were the winner of the paperback, but you didn't leave your email address. If you can contact me, I'd love to send you a copy.
If I don't hear back from you within a few days, I will assign another winner.
Louisa
Since I haven't heard from Shannon, I pulled another winner, which is Rue! I know how to find you hon!
