| Book 3: The Vampire, The Witch, and the Werewolf: A Threesome Wedding Adventure |
No, I’m not
talking a euphemism for a gang-bang here. While writing my erotic paranormal
series, The Vampire, The Witch & The
Werewolf, I’ve come across a bit of a quandary: Do I need to keep upping
the sex scenes between the characters to hold the reader’s attention?
A New Orleans Threesome, book 1 of the series, covers all the
bases that one would expect in a male/male/female threesome. The story contains
plenty of acrobatic love scenes, and double-penetration (Hey, we are on TRS Blue here!) With book 2, Chains of Silver, the trio became a bit
more adventurous, and explored the myriad ways of lovemaking even more. It also
contains a scene that’s more of a reversal of the established roles. One reader
even commented on how the sex didn’t get boring and they were surprised at the
new scenes.
And then came
book 3, A Threesome Wedding Adventure.
The pressure increased. In some ways, there was that need to push the sexual
boundaries further. On the other side, one of the main plot points – the
pregnancy of the main character Lily, created some limitations. While it’s
extremely possible to get busy between the sheets during pregnancy, the action
needed to be plausible, too. I’ve carried two babies, and have firsthand
experience with the notion. Still, just because a woman’s knocked up doesn’t
mean she loses her physical desire. In fact, some say women become more amorous
because they ditch that fear of becoming pregnant, and hormones. Finally, there
was a little bit of fear of the “ick” factor, where some readers may go,
“what?”
Ultimately, the
story dictated the encounters. While some scenes may not be as adventurous as
that title, the final one – talk about an epilogue – goes all out. Readers had
to be left with a big bang, right?
So what do you think? As a
reader, do you expect the sex scenes to get steamier as a series progresses? As
a writer, do you feel that pressure? Make sure to enter the giveaway celebrating my new release.
The Vampire, The
Witch & The Werewolf: A Threesome Wedding Adventure
By Louisa Bacio
Planning a wedding can be stressful and crazy-making. Planning three
weddings at the same time? That’s insanity. While The Vampire, The Witch & The
Werewolf embark on a nuptial excursion, Silver & Nick hold down the home
fortress in New Orleans.
And as if everyone doesn’t have enough to deal with, the Voodoo King
comes calling with a magic elixir that diminishes sexual inhibitions and an
eerie quiet spreads across the French Quarter. Life as they know it may never be
the same.
The threesome is forced to put off honeymoon bliss in
order to banish the demons of their past, and embrace the uncertainty of the
future.
Available via Ravenous Romance, Amazon
and other eRetailers.

This was an excellent post. I often wonder about this topic not only in series but in every day writing. As a reader of your series, I will says the scenes always felt fresh and new!
Thanks so much, Kim! It is an interesting concept. I've started working on book 4, which goes back to Silver's story and I know that there will be some challenges there!
